The Story
This story began in 2018 when my partner and I discovered The Cliff Lodge during our travels in Sri Lanka. As one of their first guests, we were immediately drawn to its charm. The stunning views, the warm hospitality, and the incredible food made our stay unforgettable—one of the highlights of our journey.
That experience left a lasting impression on me, so much so that I felt inspired to reimagine their website. Though this is a personal project, born out of my admiration for The Cliff Lodge, my aim was to design a digital presence that does justice to the magic of this place. The existing website, while functional, didn’t capture its essence. The text-heavy layout and outdated design fell short in conveying the lodge’s unique appeal, making it harder for potential visitors to connect with what makes it so special.
This redesign is my attempt to reflect the soul of The Cliff Lodge: a place of serenity, connection, and natural beauty. Through a modern and user-friendly approach, I wanted to create a website that allows others to feel the same sense of wonder I did during my stay.
Old Design
The previous website was overly text-heavy, making it difficult for users to quickly scan or absorb information. Important details about rooms, amenities, and activities were buried in dense paragraphs. Additionally, the navigation was cluttered and unintuitive, making it challenging for users to find what they were looking for. Without clear calls-to-action, the user expreience felt confusing and uninviting.
New Design
The redesigned website transforms The Cliff Lodge’s online presence into a modern, inviting, and user-friendly experience. By replacing dense text with concise and engaging content, the site immediately captures the attention of visitors and allows them to explore with ease.
The navigation ensures that users can quickly find key information, without feeling overwhelmed. Clear and strategically placed calls-to-action guide visitors seamlessly through the website intuitive and hassle-free.
